ABOUT TAZFASST

FireArm Skills & Safety Training
My name is Tim “TAZ” Vinci. I was introduced to Firearms at the very young age of 6 by my family. Specifically, my uncles and brother. Safety was ALWAYS the primary focus with my introduction to firearms.
Along with a few other aspects:
• Always treat every firearm as if it were loaded
• Never ever point a firearm at something you don’t intend to destroy
• Firearms are NOT toys and should always be handled in a SAFE manner
• Firearms could be dangerous if not handled properly
• Firearms can and are fun when handled and used properly
My family taught me the proper way of using and handling a firearm and I was NOT allowed to handle a firearm unless under adult supervision. I have so many fond memories of going to the range and hanging out with my family when there were discussions regarding firearms. I looked forward to handling them, cleaning/maintaining them, looking at them, and researching them. If the topic had anything to do with firearms or shooting, I was interested. In fact, I still am to this very day.
During my life I’ve had the privilege to experience and learn from some of the people I respect and love the most about firearms. I have gained knowledge by doing, succeeding, and sometimes even failing at and with many different firearm experiences.
The first firearm I ever shot was a Stevens Over & Under .410/.22 long gun. I remember the excitement and anticipation of waiting for my uncle Mike to pick me up that day for our range day. I will never forget how he taught me about the firearm I was going to shoot. He explained why I had to wear eye & ear protection as well as the proper posture and position I should be in while holding the firearm on the shooting bench. We discussed safety, using the sight, taking aim, and what exactly was going to happen when I pulled the trigger as well as what to expect. I was NOT disappointed, it was one of many of the GREATEST experiences I ever had with a firearm, and I won’t ever forget it.
Since that day there was no turning back, I was hooked! I couldn’t get enough of being around and using firearms.
I’ve had MILLIONS of great times with firearms since then. The variety of firearms that I have shot since that great day has been tremendous. Rimfire rifles, Centerfire rifles, Shotguns, Handguns and I am humbled and privileged for all the firearm experiences I’ve had, and that I’m still having.
I have been a member at a variety of shooting clubs, shooting teams, and even competed in many disciplines for years. That said, my greatest passion is with Handguns. I just can’t get enough of them. I love them so much that I would say I SAFELY handle a handgun almost every day.
This is one of many reasons that I have chosen to teach people Safe Gun Handling. I have been learning and teaching people for years. I want to give back and provide people with POSITIVE experiences as I have had over the years. My goal is to make sure everyone ALWAYS STAYS SAFE while handling firearms so they can experience the same pleasures I have doing it. SAFETY is a requirement NOT AN OPTION for having good times with Firearms.
My knowledge and experience have been gained in a variety of ways. As mentioned earlier I was taught early on by my family. Since then I have invested in my firearm training in many ways.
I’ve successfully completed several training seminars and classes, including USPSA NROI (RO) Range Officer. I am a Certified NRA Pistol instructor. I have taken classes with professional and competitive shooters and instructors. I am still a competitive pistol shooter (although not as good as I once was). I am constantly educating myself and keeping apprised of the latest training techniques, equipment, and ALWAYS practice SAFETY.
YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE!
I am a member of several groups and associations including USPSA, NRA, USSCA. I hold many certifications and continue my education to add to my current credentials and more importantly my knowledge.
Go to the range and learn how you can have fun with a Firearm while being SAFE!
